God Is A Womxn

We live in a time where eurocentric features are still seen as the ultimate definition of beauty. Most fashion magazines still favor blue-eyed souls. Wafer thin girls with porcelain skin, dominate the scene. Living in a society that highly values eurocentric features means that the beauty of colored women remains buried and forgotten alongside their oppression.
You’re reminded that you’re just a brown woman in a white man’s world. You can never fit into their world without having to tone down the integral parts of your identity. It’s important for me as a brown woman and as a lover of women to embrace and appreciate the beauty of women who are the same color as me. If anything you don’t want these women to feel unloved just because society doesn’t know how to pay attention to fine detail. Now I’m not just talking about appreciating their physical form but also their whole womanhood. It’s about acknowledging how much they go through to exist in the beacon of today’s society. There’s a reason why I prefer to date colored women. It’s not just for their looks but these women are truly formidable. Their beauty, strength, and courage often go unnoticed. When they love you, they love deeply with all their heart. You can feel the love glistening through their dusky hazel eyes. Brown girls, you are a pure work of art. I know you go through a lot, trying to navigating yourself in a world that doesn’t value you. Sometimes not even your own kind value you. It’s obvious while you were growing up you were probably ridiculed for your thick eyebrows and dark skin. But somehow you developed a thick skin to keep you up and fighting. The way your thick black hair falls into place makes you look graceful. Instead of fixating on what people think of your body hair, just wave your fingers in the air. Learn to fall in love with your curls and infinite curves because someone else will. You never liked your nose but it was a gift from your ancestors.
Immerse yourself in all of your womanhood and learn to love it. The good, bad and ugly. Don’t let anyone stifle your voice that’s yearning to be heard.
Don’t let society brainwash you into thinking that European features are the ultimate representation of beauty.
